Bulls Cap Road Trip With Loss at Bucknell
LEWISBURG, PA - The Buffalo women's soccer team capped off its three-game road trip Friday evening against the Bucknell Bison. Another frustrating offensive performance and a early second-half goal for the Bison doomed the Bulls (1-3-1) to its second straight loss.
The Bulls were out shot 16-5 and put only one of its five shots on goal. After earning the start, freshman midfielderKassidy Kidd led the way with two shots. Ainsley Wheldonwas kept busy throughout the game, making just three saves but consistently stepping into crosses and passing lanes to hold off the Bucknell attack. The Bison thought it had another goal with around ten minutes in the game, but the presumed score was waved off by an offsides call.
Needing to regroup after a pair of 1-0 shutouts over the past two games, the Bulls return to UB Stadium on Sunday with a 7 pm game against rival Niagara. The game will also be senior day for seven UB seniors:Angela Nicholas, Shannon Algoe, Carolyn McNamara, Taylor Thompson, Katie Kerr, Shannon Fisher, and Stephanie Velez.
