Colorado Springs, Colo. --- San José State’s sophomore keeper Ana Calero is the Mountain West Women’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week for games completed through August 27.
Colorado Springs, Colo. --- San José State’s sophomore keeper Ana Calero is the Mountain West Women’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week for games completed through August 27.
The Watsonville, Calif., native receives the award after earning a shutout in San José State’s 3-0 win over reigning Big Sky champion Eastern Washington University on Aug. 25.
She made six saves on the way to the Spartans’ first shutout of 2017. It was the fourth shutout of Calero’s career after she had three last season as a true freshman.
Calero and the San José State women’s soccer team takes on Rice this Friday, Sept. 1, at the Spartan Soccer Complex beginning at 2:00 p.m. (PT). Get your tickets for the match now by calling the Spartan Ticket Office at 408-924-7589.
