The Central Connecticut women's soccer team fell to Robert Morris (1-12-2, 1-3-1 NEC) by a score of 1-0 on Sunday in Carnot-Moon, PA. The Blue Devils outshot the Colonials 12-9 but were unable to rebound after an early goal by RMU. With the loss, Central's record now stands at 1-11-1 (0-5-0 NEC).

Freshman Alysa Christo kicked off game action just 30 seconds into the first half with a shot resulting in a save by RMU goalkeeper Rebekah Schoenecker. Robert Morris responded with an attack of its own just over one minute into the match with a shot and goal from 18 yards out by Junior Johanna Kadam, putting the Colonials up 1-0 early in the game.

CCSU attempted to gain the edge on the Colonials posting two corner kicks and three shots in the 19 minutes following the goal, but were unsuccessful. Scoreless play continued the rest of the half and the teams went into halftime with Robert Morris up 1-0.

Central continued an offensive front posting another five shots in the second half, compared four for RMU, and five corner kicks. CCSU totaled eight corner kicks on the day - the most by Central in a single game this season.

Ten Blue Devils posted shots throughout the game, including five on goal, one each by Christo, junior Rachel Cerrone, freshman Brianne Casey and sophomores Danica Foglio and Julie Lavoie.

Central returns to action Friday, Oct. 12 at 7 p.m. in New Britain, CT at the CCSU Soccer Field. The Blue Devils will face Mount St. Mary's in the match who is currently 7-5-1 overall (2-1-1 NEC).
