One night after opening its conference season with a win, the Centre College men's soccer team tied Westminster (Mo.) 2-2 Sunday, Sept. 30 in Danville, Ky.

The Blue Jays (3-3-2) jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first half. Adam Ross scored 19:55 into the opening half, and then Jacob Appelbaum made it 2-0 with a goal at the 28:56 mark.

The score remained that way until the 68:13 mark in the second half when senior Ryan Garvey (Louisville, Ky.) hit the back of the net off an assist from junior Robbe Tarver (Houston, Texas) to cut the lead in half. The goal was Garvey's eighth, while Tarver's assist was also his eighth.

Less than 1:30 later, sophomore Cameron Miller (Nicholasville, Ky.) tied the match at 2-2 with his fifth goal of the season. Garvey had the assist, his second.

Regulation ended in that same 2-2 tie as did both overtime periods. Centre out-shot the Blue Jays 7-2 on the night and had an 8-1 advantage in corner kicks, but finished with its first tie of the season.

The Colonels, now 7-2-1 overall, will return to conference play Friday, Oct. 5 against Millsaps College. The SAA match is set to start at 8 p.m. in Danville, Ky.
