Concordia got off to a quick start in the first half, controlling the ball offensively which led to a goal in the seventh minute. Sophomore Maddi Paulson (Maddi Paulson) netted her first goal of the season as freshman Jimena Garcia Risoto (Madrid, Spain) sent a pass own the left side of the field and found Paulson who took a shot into the top-right corner of the net.

A little under eight minutes later, the duo hooked up again as Garcia Risoto fed a pass into the 18-yard box as Paulson was able to dribble around a defender to put her second goal in the back of the net and give the Clippers the 2-0 lead. Shots in the half were close for both teams as Holy Family took six and Concordia had five, however, the Clippers kept the Tigers off the scoreboard and took a 2-0 advantage into halftime.

The second half saw Holy Family break their scoreless drought in the 65th minute as a cross by Brianna Rock found Ursula Coyle for the header. Two minutes later the Tigers scored the equalizer as a loose ball just outside the 18-yard box was picked up by Alyssa Christiansen for a long-range shot to knot the score at 2-2.

Paulson had a chance to give Concordia the lead in the 69th minute with a shot on net, but Holy Family goalkeeper Sienna Smith made one of her three saves to prevent the Clippers from scoring the go-ahead goal.

The final goal of the game came in the 83rd minute by the Tigers as a shot by Ashley Shackleford was saved by Concordia freshman goalkeeper Stephanie Wilczynski (Shrewsbury, Mass.), but the rebound would come to Rock for her second goal of the season giving Holy Family the 3-2 lead. The Clippers were unable to get off another shot in the half as the Tigers held on for the victory.

"I think today's game was a tale of two halves," explained Head Coach Kelci Hegg. "We came out early with two quick goals by Paulson, but needed to learn game management to hold the lead. Holy Family put a lot of pressure on us in the second half and it was a good learning experience for our young squad. We are steps ahead of where I thought we would be this early in the season and we will use the positives from today," concluded Hegg.

Wilczynski finished the game with a career-high 12 saves as Concordia held a 7-6 edge in corner kicks. The Tigers finished the game with a 26-8 advantage in shots.

The Clippers (1-2, 0-1 CACC) will be back in action on Wednesday afternoon, hosting Dominican (N.Y.) for a CACC game.
