This is the first of a 2-part look at the Big East Conference. TopDrawerSoccer.com’s Players To Watch conference player rankings is focusing on the Big East Blue (men) and the Big East American (women). These two lists cover half of one of the top soccer conferences in the country and settling on 20 top players, even when we created separate lists for each division, is no easy matter. 

For the next 5 weeks or so, we will be unveiling our top 20 list for each competitive DI conference, men’s and women’s. These rankings are based on previous accolades, current season performance and especially the feedback of informed observers all over the country.

On the girls’s side, it’s a close fight for the top nod but we chose West Virginia’s Bri Rodriguez, with her teammate Blake Miller and Marquette’s Kerry McBride close behind.

On the men’s side, Georgetown’s outstanding midfielder Ian Christianson is #1, edging Notre Dame’s Dillon Powers and the UConn trio of Carlos Alvarez, Tony Cascio and Mamadou Diouf.

The rankings are subject to change at any time and will be replaced with a comprehensive season-ending version in December.
