Corboz joins Manchester City WFC
After four standout seasons at Georgetown, U.S. Under 23 midfielder Daphne Corboz has signed with Manchester City WFC, the club announced on Tuesday.
"Football is my passion," she said in a release. "I'm really excited to be here and get the season started. Seeing all the facilities here during my first visit really blew me away. I feel like there's no better place to play football."
Corboz joins Manchester City after scoring 47 goals (most in program history) and adding 40 assists in her four years at the Big East program. The two-time All American decided to put med school on hold and continue her career in England.
She was recently called into camp with the U.S. U23 WNT at the end of May, helping to capture the Four Nations tournament in Norway.
"She's a young player with real potential, a very good work ethic and she loves football so she'll fit into this squad really well," MCWFC manager Nick Cushing said.
"Daphne has really good technique and she's an aggressive attacking player - she likes to receive the ball and really drive forward and make things happen, whether that's for herself or other players."
Manchester City continues its FA Women's Soccer League campaign on Sunday, July 12 against Birmingham City Ladies.
