Sophomore forward Laurel Ramer scored in the 94th minute to give the University of Wyoming women's soccer team a dramatic 2-1 overtime win over New Mexico in Thursday's semifinal of the Mountain West Championship at the SDSU Sports Deck. The Cowgirls (11-8-1) advance to the MW title match for a second time in four seasons, as UW faces the winner of tonight's other semifinal between San Diego State and Colorado College on Saturday at 8 p.m. MT.

"I give New Mexico credit because they played a great game," UW head Coach Pete Cuadrado said. "I'm very proud of our team's effort. We played calm and confident. We have been maturing all season and it showed out there tonight. Now it's time to start recovering and just enjoy the win to get ready for Saturday."

Ramer found her third goal of the season and the game winner just four minutes into the extra period on an assist from freshman forward Kaitlyn Lomsnes. The Lobos (10-6-2) got on the scoreboard first in the 31st minute off a diagonal shot from 12 yards out, but the Cowgirls capitalized off a corner kick by senior defender Alison Clarke to find freshman forward Candace Sciberras for the equalizing goal in the 73rd minute.

UW outshot the Lobos 15-9 and 4-2 in shots on goal, while also holding a 6-5 advantage in corner kicks. Sciberras led the Cowgirls offensively with two shots on goal, scoring on one, while freshman midfielder Alisha Bass had four shots with one on goal. On the defensive, side senior goalkeeper Alex Boehm had one save on the night.
