Creighton women fall to Missouri State

OMAHA, Neb. – The Missouri State women’s soccer team (5-5-2, 1-1-0) dropped its first conference road match of the season, 3-0, at Creighton (9-3-1, 2-0-0) today.

Missouri State fell behind in the 13th minute as Creighton was awarded its first penalty kick of the match.  The Bluejays doubled their lead on another penalty kick in the 67th minute.  Creighton would add a third goal on the 76th minute to seal the 3-0 win.

Missouri State goalkeeper Jessica Teahan started her 12th match of the season and played 73 minutes before being replaced by freshman Chelsea Voet.  Voet made her second appearance of the season with both occurring during conference play.

Offensively, the Bears were led by freshman Rachel Weimer.  Weimer had three shots, all on goal, out of the nine total shots taken by Missouri State.  Samantha Aguilar and Michelle Sommer each added a shot on goal.

Missouri State will continue conference road play next Saturday, October 10 at Evansville for a 7:00 p.m. tilt with the Purple Aces.  The Bears will return home to face Drake on Sunday, October 18 for a 1:00 p.m. kickoff at Plaster Field.
