BRISTOL, Tenn. – The King University women’s soccer team fell to Pfeiffer University 4-0 at a rainy Parks Field on Saturday afternoon.

The game was controlled by the Pfeiffer (3-3) offense, which scored three goals in the first half in the soggy conditions and played nearly the entire game in the Tornado (1-5) defensive half of the field.

Starting goalkeeper Nicole Dagher played the first 70 minutes of the match, totaling nine saves. The Falcons would place 15 of their 26 shots on goal and force Dagher and fellow goalkeeper Morgan Lawson to combine for 11 stops.

Pfeiffer’s Aaliyah Jackson scored her third and fourth goals of the season in the first 28 minutes of the match. Her 17th minute score broke a 0-0 tie and came from a perfect through ball from Brae Buster. Eleven minutes later, she gave the Falcons a 2-0 advantage on an unassisted goal from just a few yards out.

Pfeiffer added to its lead in the 35th minute, then scored its final goal of the match in the 60th minute.

King totaled 13 shots in the contest. Rayna Spears contributed two of the Tornado’s four shots on goal, and Rachel Thorpe attempted five strikes.

King returns to action on Wednesday at 1:00 p.m. against Carson-Newman. The Tornado will host a doubleheader against the Eagles, with the men’s match slated to begin at 3:00 p.m.
