Published: September 10, 2011

COLLEGE STATION, Texas - The Dartmouth wome's soccer team held the Texas A&M Aggies to a single goal in the first half but it wasn't enough as the Aggies scored two second half markers to defeat Dartmouth, 3-0, in the Big Green season opener in College Station.

The Dartmouth offense recorded six shots for the contest and featured shots from Marina Moschitto (Andover, Mass.), Grace Best (Downington, Pa.), Tasha Wilkins (Portland, Ore), Kim Rose (Seaford, N.Y.) and Aly O'Dea (Irvine, Calif.). In her first collegiate start, freshman goalkeeper Tatiana Saunders (Rye, N.Y.) tallied eight saves in a full ninety minutes of action.

Dartmouth was able to keep the Aggies at bay for the majority of the first half and had several shots including an early shot from Moschitto that forced the Texas A&M goalkeeper to make a play on the ball.  The Big Green kept pace with the Aggies in the first half and had a 4-3 advantage on corner kicks in the first stanza.

Texas A&M scored what proved to be the game-winner in the 29th minute of action on a goal from Shea Groom who scored two of A&M's three goals on the evening.

Dartmouth continues its tour of Texas when it heads to Austin to take on the Texas Longhorns on Sunday (Sept. 4) in a nationally televised contest on the Longhorn Network. Kick off is set for 1 p.m. (ET) at Texas' Mike A. Myers Soccer Stadium.
