DAYTON, Ohio - The University of Dayton women's soccer team (9-8-2, 5-2-1 A-10) battled to a 1-1 double overtime tie against VCU (9-4-5, 5-1-2 A-10) in a key Atlantic 10 match at Baujan Field Sunday. 

The match decided the No. 2 seed in the upcoming 2014 A-10 Women's Championship which will be held in Dayton, Ohio at Baujan Field this Nov. 6, 7 and 9. A UD win would have given the Flyers the second seed, however the draw gives VCU the No. 2 seed and Dayton the No. 3 seed.

The Rams scored in the 38th minute as Gabby Dyer crossed the ball into the box and Megan Dell headed it in to put VCU up 1-0.

Junior Ashley Campbell answered in the 60th minute, beating keeper Emma Kruse low off the throw in from sophomore Megan Blank. It marked Campbell's 13th goal of the season. 

The Flyers outshot VCU 21-15, including 12-6 for shots on frame. Kruse had nine saves for VCU and redshirt juniorHeather Betancourt had four saves for UD.

The Flyers and Rams have faced off four times now and Dayton leads the series 1-0-3. Three of the meetings have resulted in a 1-1 tie since 2012. The Flyers' win was a 5-4 victory at VCU in the first round of the 2013 A-10 Championship.

Dayton will play in the 7:30 p.m. match this Thursday, Nov. 6 in the fourth match of the day of the A-10 Championship.
