DAYTON EDGED 1-0 BY #24 SANTA CLARA

SANTA CLARA, Calif. - The University of Dayton women's soccer team fell 1-0 to No. 24 Santa Clara at Buck Shaw Stadium Friday night. The Flyers drop to 2-4-1 while the nationally-ranked Broncos improve to 4-2-0.
Santa Clara had seven shots to Dayton's six. Nicole Waters had two shots on goal for the Flyers late in the second half. UD goalkeeper Elizabeth James had five saves in goal.
The Broncos scored the lone goal of the match in the 24th minute, after the Flyers had dominated possession much of the first 20 minutes. Kat Mcauliffe scored the goal, with an assist from Kat Uhl.
Dayton is back in action this Sunday, Sept. 14 at No. 4 Stanford. Kick is set for 4 p.m. ET.
