D'Youville
BUFFALO, NY—Five different Bengals scored first-half goals as Buffalo State (3-3-1) cruised to a 5-0 victory over host D'Youville (0-8) in a non-conference match in the wind and rain tonight at Riverside High School.
C.J. Scirto (Lockport/St. Joe's) led the Bengals' attack with a goal and two assists. Brett Lanham (Newstead/Williamsville North), Francesco Cardillo (Tonawanda/St. Thomas Aquinas (ON)), Andrew Dugan (Schenectady/Colonie) and Eric Tellgren (Springville/Springville Griffith) all added a goal apiece. Dylan Ross (Staten Island/St. Peter's Boys) chipped in three assists, and freshman Robby Kuhnle (Pleasant Valley/Arlington) needed to make just three saves for his first collegiate shutout.
Buffalo State took control of the game from the opening whistle and needed just 2:31 to open the scoring. The Bengals added four more goals by the 38th minute and then coasted to the win. Buffalo State outshot the Spartans, 21-6, including 15-1 in the opening half.
Buffalo State will open SUNYAC play this Friday at Geneseo at 4 p.m.
