Elon's King signs with Carolina Railhawks
					February 24, 2012

After helping Elon to the 2011 Southern Conference Tournament crown in his final season, defender Austen King will continue his soccer career professionally with the Carolina RailHawks. King competed on the RailHawks U23 team that won a USASA U23 National Championship in 2011.
A starter in the back for the Phoenix, King helped Elon to eight shutouts this past season, including two during Elon’s improbable run to the SoCon Tournament championship. The Phoenix knocked off the tournament’s top three seeds en route to earning the league’s automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament. King scored three goals and had two assists during his career and was named first-team All-SoCon as a junior.
The Carolina RailHawks compete in the North American Soccer League (NASL) and are coached by Colin Clarke. The RailHawks will open their season at home against the Vancouver Whitecaps on Sunday, March 4 at 3 p.m.
