The Albertus Magnus men's soccer team recorded four first-half goals to cruise to a 4-0 victory over Rivier on Tuesday afternoon at Celentano Field.

Today's win marked the sixth straight for the Falcons as they improve to 7-2 on the year and 4-0 in Great Northeast Athletic Conference play. Rivier falls to 0-6 this season and 0-4 in the GNAC.

Lindsley Barrett (Shelton, Conn.) scored the eventual game-winning goal in the 11th minute as he connected on a cross in the box from Stephen Zapata (Hamden, Conn.). A minute later, the Falcons' second goal was recorded as Nick Woodhouse (Plainville, Conn.) registered his first career goal. Jamal Howard (West Haven, Conn.) played a ground ball into the box where Woodhouse chipped in the Falcons' second goal of the game.

Zapata recorded his team-leading ninth assist of the year in the 16th minute as his corner kick found the head of Tim Mikita (Ansonia, Conn.), who redirected the ball past the Raiders' goalkeeper.

The Falcons' final goal came in the 24th minute as Richard Mitchell (Naugatuck, Conn.) scored off of a Patrick Kenefick (Woodbridge, Conn.) corner kick.

The Falcons dominated play throughout the game as they outshot the Raiders 38-1 on the afternoon, including a 20-0 clip in the first half. The Raiders' lone shot came with 13:07 left in the contest.

Bryar King recorded 10 saves in his first appearance in net for the Raiders.

Donato Piroscafo (Naugatuck, Conn.) and Francois Brown (New Haven, Conn.) split time in between the pipes for the Falcons but both did not see a shot on net throughout the contest.

Albertus will return to action on Saturday, Oct. 1 as the Falcons travel to Norwich University for a 1:00 p.m. conference match-up.
