Complete Patriot League Release
BETHLEHEM, Pa. - The Lehigh women's soccer program continues to enjoy success in the classroom, placing 15 student-athletes on the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll, as announced on Wednesday. To be named to the honor roll, student-athletes must earn a 3.20 grade-point average in the semester of their sport's competition. Junior, Academic All-Patriot League honoree and the team's Scholar-Athlete of the Year Amanda Stratton posted a team-high 3.88 grade point average this past fall semester as a Bioengineering major.
All of Lehigh's honorees tallied a 3.30 GPA or higher. Four had a GPA of 3.78 or higher. Following Stratton, Freshman Sam Miller recorded a 3.86 GPA, freshman Sidonie Warnecker had a 3.83 and freshman Mary Casey recorded a 3.78, all in the College of Arts and Sciences.
Junior Grace Correll posted a 3.53 GPA in Management while freshman Erin Racano recorded a 3.52 (Business) and sophomore Sabrina Mertz tallied a 3.51 (Business)
Lehigh women's soccer has enjoyed impressive success in the classroom; in September, Lehigh received an NSCAA Team Academic Award for the 13th time in the last 14 seasons.
The Mountain Hawks finished a memorable 2016 season with an 11-5-2 record, which included a school-record eight-game unbeaten streak to begin the season. Lehigh's seven-game winning streak also tied a school mark. The Mountain Hawks handed eventual league champion Bucknell its first loss of the season, a win that clinched Lehigh its first Patriot League Tournament berth since 2012. The team's No. 3 seed in the league tournament was its highest seeding since 2010.
