HANOVER, N.H - The Dartmouth men's soccer team picked up a 3-1 win over Penn behind the strength of first-half goals from Patrick Murray (Lakewood, Ohio) and Robin Alnas (Gothenburg, Sweden) on Saturday at Burnham Field. The win gives Dartmouth its seventh consecutive Ivy League home win; a streak dating back to the 2010 season.

Dartmouth (6-6-0, 2-1-0 Ivy League) dominated the Quakers from the outset, really forcing the visitors to buckle down in the defensive zone and it didn't take long for the Big Green to get on the board.

Dartmouth took its first lead just seven minutes into the game, when Murray headed a ball past Penn goalkeeper, Max Kurtzman, which really set the tone for the first half. Murray connected on a pass in the box from defender Brian Joseff (Santa Barbara, Calif.) and buried it for his second goal of the season.

The Big Green largely controlled the run of play in the first frame barely allowing the Quakers to get into their offense while Dartmouth picked apart the Penn (2-10-0, 0-3-0 Ivy League) defense and maneuvered their way into Penn's offensive zone.

Dartmouth spread the offense out with 11 different players recording shots with Andoni Georgiou (London, England) posting a team-best three shots on the afternoon.

Alnas made it 2-0 at the 32:38 mark of the first half after connecting with Kevin Dzierzawski (Oakland Township, Mich.) cross. The senior co-captain took a cross from the right side and after it dropped and bounced around in the box Alnas sent it into the far right corner for his first goal of the season.

The Quakers captured a little momentum just three minutes before halftime with a Travis Cantrell goal, sending Dartmouth into halftime with a 2-1 advantage.

The second half was a little bit of a different tone with the Quakers settling in and taking a few dangerous shots. Dartmouth goalkeeper Noah Cohen (Johannesburg, South Africa) made four saves in the second half en route to a season-high eight saves on the night.

Penn had several incredible chances late in the game that the Dartmouth backline had to clear, including a header from Louis Schott that hit the crossbar.

Georgiou (sealed the win for the Dartmouth in the 76th minute with his third goal of the season. Teammate and Big Green leading scorer, Alex Adelabu (Houston, Texas) placed a pass at the top of the 18 and after a bit of bouncing around it fell on the foot of Georgiou who sealed the win for the Big Green.

The Big Green will next take to the pitch on Saturday (Oct. 20) when they take on Columbia in New York.
