Bronx, N.Y. - Senior Will Casey (Setauket, N.Y.) scored a pair of goals in a span of 2:26, and sophomore Alejandro Fritz (Budapest, Hungary) scored the game-winner in the 70th minute to lift the Stony Brook men's soccer team to a 3-2 win over Fordham Friday evening at Jack Coffey Field.

The victory was Stony Brook's first road win of the season and improves the team's overall record to 3-3-0. Fordham, which is now 0-2-0 against Stony Brook all-time, falls to 2-4-0 on the year.

"I thought it was a good performance, a really tough battle. We were a little casual after we went up two goals. They scored a really good goal in the second half to tie the match. But our guys were resilient; they scored a good goal to go up and then grinded it out to get the result, which was good to get on the road."

Goal Recaps

• In the 40th minute, a Fordham clear gone wrong ended up in a scrum, but the volley went to Martin Giordano (Weston, Fla.), who passed to Casey, who then blasted a shot 25 yards away that sailed past Rams goalkeeper Alex Naples.
• In the 42nd minute, Fritz crossed the ball into the box to find a waiting Casey, who slid in behind his defenders and got off a one-timer shot that beat the keeper.
• In the 43rd minute, Fordham crossed the ball into the box, but the ball went off a Seawolves defender into the net for an own goal.
• In the 68th minute, Fordham's Jack Bouchard buried a goal from about 25 yards out with a launching kick.
• In the 70th minute, Fritz was awarded a free kick and from about 24 yards he blasted the ball over the Fordham wall of defenders and past the goalkeeper for the game-winner.
