Junior Callie Hancockearned her first collegiate hat trick against CSU Bakersfield Sunday afternoon as the Fresno State women's soccer team cruised to a 3-1 win in non-conference action. Hancock now leads the team in goals with seven this season.

"I think it was a really good team effort," said Head Coach Brian Zwaschka. "We're on a good run. And we just wanted to continue no matter who we are playing."

The Bulldogs are now on a six game unbeaten streak as they head deeper into Western Athletic Conference play.

The match remained scoreless for over 35 minutes. With less than 10 minutes remaining in the first half Hancock took a pass from sophomore Morgan Castain to the back of the net. It marked Castain's third assist of the year.

Eight minutes later, Hancock earned freshman Jaycee Bingham her second collegiate assist after taking a long pass through the defenders to goal.

Fresno State (7-3-3) entered the half with a 2-0 lead.

Four minutes into the second half, a Bulldogs foul inside the box led to a Roadrunners goal off a penalty kick.

Hancock completed the hat trick in the 68th minute of play on a pass from senior Molly Nizzoli, who leads the team in assists with eight.

"Before the game today, we weren't exactly sure what we would get out of Callie because she's sick," added Zwaschka. "And to her credit, it was the normal Callie and she worked her tail off to get herself into those positions."

 Sophomore Riley Fielder earned her first collegiate win and picked up a match-high four saves.

"We started Riley in goal and the team really rallied around her," Zwaschka said. "Just the very idea that there were a lot of players who contributed significant minutes, it allowed us to get some really good experience for the whole team."

Fresno State continues its road trip by heading back into WAC play against San Jose State on Friday, Oct. 8 at 7 p.m.

The Bulldogs lead the series 13-6-2 all-time. The last time the teams met was in the WAC championship match on Nov. 7, 2010. Despite the match being tied 0-0 at the end of the second overtime, the Bulldogs won their third tournament title on penalty kicks (3-1).
