HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Within the sixth and eighth minutes of the game, Holy Cross had two scoring opportunities by freshman Yuji Callahan (Okinawa, Japan) and junior Eddie Gibbons (Bellport, N.Y.). Both shots came from inside the box and landed in the arms of Boston University goalie Nick Thomson.

COACH KOOLMAN ON THE GAME
  • "We've got to be a little more clinical in front of the goal," said Holy Cross head coach Marco Koolman. "At halftime, we talked about how the little details are going to make a difference, especially in a tight game. We do a lot of things right offensively in the buildup, but then in front of the goal our service has to be better, our runs have to be more aggressive and our final touches need to improve."
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
  • Wright made seven saves for Holy Cross, while Thomson made five saves for the Terriers.
  • Holy Cross held the advantage in corner kicks (4-2) as Boston University led in shots (15-12) and shots on goal (8-5).
