Holy Cross Versus Bryant Postponed

WORCESTER, Mass. - The Holy Cross versus Bryant men's soccer game which was delayed during halftime due to lightning has now been postponed. The Crusaders were winning 1-0. A game needs to be played for 70:00 to be official. Statistics from the game will not be counted.
Bryant's Shane Murphy took the first shot on net just a minute after the game started as sophomore goalie Michael Thompson (Cromwell, Conn.) knocked the ball over the goal. Junior Kevin O'Connell (Basking Ridge, N.J.) gave the Crusaders a 1-0 lead at 16:33 when he blasted a shot from 25 yards out to the right side of the net. Junior captain Monty Sanders (Temecula, Calif.) posted an assist on the goal. Bryant's Kevin Tejada almost tied the contest at the 25:00 mark when he fired a low shot that was kicked off the goal line by junior Dane Kenny (Williston Park, N.Y.). The Bulldogs had another scoring opportunity when Matt Guerriero sent a free kick from 25 yards to the lower right side of the net that was saved by Thompson. Bryant outshot Holy Cross, 6-3 for the half, while the Bulldogs took four shots on goal and the Crusaders posted one. Bryant took six corner kicks.
Then during halftime the game was delayed due to lightning and then eventually postponed.
The Crusaders return to action when they play at Providence at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 12.
