Hope Women's Soccer Loses To Calvin
Two second-half goals sent the Hope women's soccer team to a 2-1 loss to visiting Calvin on Saturday at Van Andel Soccer Stadium.
The Flying Dutch fell to 8-2-1 overall and 5-2-1 in Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) play. They slipped into third place in the league standings with 16 points — three behind second-place Calvin and five behind first-place Alma.
Freshman Sarah Fazio of Holland (Holland Christian HS) scored her third goal of the season for the Flying Dutch in the 25th minute. It was unassisted after she put home a rebound from six yards out.
Hope remained in the lead until the 51st minute when Calvin tied the score. The Knights broke the tie in the 69th minute.
Goalie Kat Dickson made three saves for the Flying Dutch.
