BOSTON, Mass. -- The Northeastern women's soccer team (2-1-0) suffered its first loss of 2017 on Thursday at the hands of Boston University (1-2-0), 2-1.
Junior Hannah Rosenblatt scored the lone goal for the Huskies in the loss in the sixth minute that gave NU a 1-0 lead. From there, the Terriers took control of the game with two straight goals before the end of the first half.
Northeastern's shutout streak that spanned the first two games of the season was snapped in the 19th minute by BU. The Huskies had gone 199:31 without conceding a goal.
The Huskies held pressure in the BU end from opening kickoff until the sixth minute when they broke through. Hannah Lopiccolo sent a perfect ball from the wing to Rosenblatt in front who guided it in from in close.
After weaving her way into the box and drawing a penalty kick, Jesse Schreck fired a shot that went just under the bar in the middle of the net.
On a corner kick, the Terriers sent a ball into the box that was knocked down. Before the Huskies could clear it, Julianna Chen got a foot on it and sent it inside the right post.
Northeastern rounds out the week on Sunday on the road against the Maine Black Bears. Kickoff is set for 2 p.m.
