Published: August 31, 2011

The Northeastern women’s soccer team suffered its first loss of the season against crosstown rival Boston University, 2-0, Sunday night at Nickerson Field.

The Terriers (1-0-1), coming off a tie against fourth-ranked Boston College, scored in the fourth minute off a rebound to take the early lead.

Boston University took a 2-0 lead in the 64th minute when forward Jessica Luscinki scored on a shot from just outside the penalty area.

The Huskies (1-1-0) were unable to break through the stout defense of the Terriers. Freshman goalkeeper Paige Burnett made six stops, playing all 90 minutes.
