Kelly and Adkisson Take Away RMAC Player of the Week Awards

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.:  Both senior Mark Kelly and freshman Connor Adkissongarnered Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Player of the Week awards this week after the Rangers went 2-0 over the weekend.

Kelly, earning his second RMAC Offensive Player of the Week award this week, helped the Rangers with two goals, including a game-winner and one assist over the weekend.  He first nabbed one assist against UC-Colorado Springs on Friday, before commanding the Ranger offense on Sunday against Colorado School of Mines.  Against Mines, the senior day honoree grabbed two goals, including the game-winner.  Over the weekend, he put four shots on goal in 10 attempts for a .400 shot on goal percentage.

After last week, the Antrim, N. Ireland native made his way to a 14-national ranking in points per game and a 15-spot with total points on the season.  He is also nationally ranked in assists, points and goals per game, along with total goals, total assists and total points.

Adkisson had quite a performance in between the posts over the weekend, starting with a shutout against UC-Colorado Springs on Friday.  On Sunday, the freshman put in an impressive 13 saves against Mines, giving up only one goal on a penalty kick.  He owned a 0.50 goals against average, while putting up a .929 save percentage and grabbing the shutout.

The Federal Way, Wash. native earned a nationally-ranked spot in goals against average, saves per game and save percentage.  He also now tops the RMAC with a .842 save percentage, and is ranked with shutouts per game and saves per game.

This week, the Rangers will take on Metro State on Wed., Oct. 30 at 3:30 p.m. on the road and then head to Colorado Mesa University to compete against the Mavs on Sun., Nov. 3 at 3:00 p.m.
