ITHACA, N.Y. - In a matchup of two undefeated teams, Lafayette and Cornell remained unbeaten as the two sides played to a scoreless draw on Tuesday evening at Charles F. Berman Field. It was Lafayette's sixth draw of the season, tying a program record.

Lafayette (2-0-6) played in its sixth consecutive double overtime contest and was backed by goalkeeper Nathan McDonald's fourth shutout of the season. McDonald finished the night with a season-high six saves en route to his 15^th career clean sheet.

The Big Red (5-0-2) saw a majority of the scoring chances go their way in the first half and forced McDonald to make two stops in the opening 45 minutes. As the game remained scoreless late in the second half, Lafayette began to mount some pressure on the other end. Ryan Dodds had a shot blocked in the 77^th minute before Chandler Fraser-Pauls directed a header wide of the goal less than two minutes later.

Early in each overtime period, Lafayette's Peter Adubato put two shots on target and Cornell keeper Kurtis Teskoski made both saves to preserve the clean sheet for the home team. Overall, Cornell held a 6-2 advantage in shots on goal and an 8-1 margin in corner kicks.

Lafayette returns to the field on Saturday when it opens Patriot League play on the road in Hamilton, N.Y. Kickoff against Colgate at Van Doren Field is scheduled for 7 p.m. and can be seen live on the Patriot League Network.

Game Notes:

Lafayette's six draws match the total set by the Leopards' 2007 squad that finished the year 10-4-6 overall.

Lafayette leads the all-time series against Cornell 5-3-3.

McDonald's 15 career shutouts ranks seventh on the all-time list.

Earlier in the night William and Mary defeated North Carolina 1-0 to give the Tar Heels their first loss. Then, Virginia shut out Providence 4-0, the Friars first loss of the season.
