Lamar clipped by Kent State

SAN ANTONIO, Texas – The Lamar University women’s soccer team dropped a 3-0 decision to Kent State on the first day of the UTSA Classic on Friday.
Lamar (1-3) had eight shots on goal, matching the total of Kent State, but the Lady Cardinals were thwarted by the goalkeeping tandem of Stephanie Senn and Julie Keslar, who combined for the shutout.
“We dominated play, but we made a couple of mistakes that they took advantage of,” Lamar coach Orlando Cervantes said. “It’s hard to come back from two quick goals.”
Jaclyn Dutton scored all three goals for the Golden Flashes (3-0-1).
Kristin Bos led Lamar with eight shots and three shots on goal.
Lamar returns to action against Eastern Michigan at USA at 10 a.m. Sunday.
