Late Scores Propel Marist To Win at Rider
LAWRENCEVILLE, New Jersey - In its 2015 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference opener, the Marist men's soccer team shut out Rider, 2-0, on Sept. 26.
Senior Connor Flatley and freshman Cameron Harr found the back of the net toward the end of each half of the Red Foxes' third win of the season. Sophomore goalkeeper Mark Rajovic made six saves to earn his ninth career shutout. He is now third on the program's all-time list.
Both sides remained off the scoreboard until the 44:21 mark when Flatley headed in a rebound off a shot from junior Zachary Reed. Two minutes after re-entering the game, Harr netted his team-best fourth goal of the season on a feed from sophomore Brendan Gallivan.
The Broncs were led by junior Christian Flath and sophomore Jose Anguinaga, who fired three shots apiece. Rider's defense blocked three Marist shots.
The Red Foxes will return home to host Canisius in a midweek MAAC tilt at 4 p.m. Sept. 30.
