Lebanon Valley Knocks Off Centenary
Annville, Pa. – Lebanon Valley broke open a one-goal game late in the second half with four-straight goals and defeated Centenary 5-0 at the Dutchmen's Men's Soccer Invitational Saturday afternoon.
Cam Alexander struck for the game's first goal in the 11th minute as he collected his own rebound and beat sophomore goalkeeper Jesse Goleman (Pittsburgh, Pa./Allderdice).
Brothers Jordann and Josh Ferguson both netted two goals during the final 18 minutes of the match to put the game away for the Dutchmen. The duo also assisted on one goal each.
Goleman made 10 saves to lead the Cyclones. He totaled 19 stops during the two-day tournament and helped key Centenary's 1-0 triumph over No. 16 Susquehanna in the opener.
Lebanon Valley outshot Centenary 14-3 and held a slight 5-4 edge in corner kicks.
The Cyclones look to bounce back on Thursday when they open the home portion of their schedule against Wesley. The game begins at 7:30 pm at Hackettstown High School.
