BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Coming off an exciting 4-0 home-opening win over LIU Brooklyn Friday night, the Lehigh women's soccer team remains home to host Marist on Wednesday evening. Opening kickoff is set for 6 p.m. The Mountain Hawks look to continue the momentum built from the second half against the Blackbirds, when they held a 21-5 advantage in shots and outscored LIU Brooklyn 3-0 over the final 45 minutes.

After a scoreless start to the game, Lehigh freshman Kayla Arestivo broke the ice in the 38th minute to give the Mountain Hawks a 1-0 lead at the half. The momentum continued in the second as Lehigh continued to attack the goal, scoring in the 52nd minute (junior Grace Correll), 74th minute (senior Tori Pantaleo) and 81st minute (junior Becca Sherry) to pull away for the victory. Lehigh has now outscored its opponents 11-0 over its last two home openers after defeating Mount St. Mary's 7-0 last year.

At one point in the first half, Lehigh and LIU Brooklyn had five shots apiece. The Mountain Hawks ended the game with 24 of the final 29 shots in an impressive effort. The Lehigh defense also continued its strong play, earning its second straight shutout to begin the season as its shutout streak reached 273:57 dating to the end of last season. Freshman goalkeeper Sam Miller has backstopped the defense this year, stopping all 12 shots sent her way over the first two games to earn Patriot League Rookie of the Week honors.

Marist enters Wednesday's game 1-1-0, beating Vermont (4-2) and falling in overtime at Dartmouth (1-0). Camille Bowen has scored three of the Red Fox's four goals so far, earning a hat trick against the Catamounts while Juliete Loccisano scored the other goal. Christina Cannella and Bianca Furci have each dished an assist. Makala Foley has started both games in goal, owning a 1.39 goals against average and .824 save percentage. The Red Foxes were predicted fifth in the MAAC preseason poll while sophomore midfielder Hope Quinonez was named to the preseason All-MAAC team. Quinonez recorded 11 points during her freshman campaign (five goals, one assist).

Lehigh is 10-2-2 all-time against Marist following a 2-1 overtime defeat last year. Senior Laura Courtney scored the Mountain Hawks' goal in that contest, the first game between Lehigh and Marist since the 2012 season. The teams first met in 1995, a 2-1 Lehigh victory.

Following Wednesday's game, the Mountain Hawks hit the road to face Mount St. Mary's on Saturday at 1 p.m.
