Lehigh places 15 on Academicc Honor Roll

BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Continuing excellence in the classroom, 15 from the women's soccer team has been named to the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll, as announced on Wednesday. To be eligible for the Academic Honor Roll, a student-athlete must earn a 3.20 grade-point average in the fall semester and participate in one of the Patriot League's seven fall championship sports.
 
Senior Katie Gavalchin (Behavioral Neuroscience) and junior Darby Wiegand (Supply Chain Management) tallied perfect 4.0 grade point averages to lead the Mountain Hawks.  Sophomore Paige Elliott (Chemical Engineering) posted a near perfect GPA (3.97), while senior Design major Rosie Vitta finished up the semester with a 3.90.
 
Eight of the 15 Mountain Hawks that landed on the list also earned Dean's List recognition with their GPAs of 3.6 or higher.
 
Lehigh wrapped up its season with a 5-10-2 record, 3-6-0 in the Patriot League. Despite beginning 0-4-0 in league play, the Mountain Hawks won two of their next three games to jump right back into the playoff picture. Four of Lehigh's six league losses were by a single goal as a talented squad looks to bounce back in 2014.
