No stranger to large recruiting classes, LMU men's soccer Head Coach Paul Krumpe, who will enter his 18th year at the helm of the program this coming fall, has announced the addition of eight new Lions for the 2015 season.

"We had a need to fill some very significant holes with this recruiting class," Krumpe said. "The seniors who have left our program were instrumental in helping us win two WCC titles in the past five seasons. This incoming class needed to be very special and they are."

The Lions bid farewell to eight seniors following the 2014 season, senior who held key roles in the attack, midfield and back line.

"We have recruited some big guys to replace our starting central defenders, and some very nimble backs who will look to join our offensive attack," Krumpe said. "We have also added some real creativity to our central midfield, guys who are great on the ball and who can play with some serious bite. We have also added some significant size and speed to our attacking group, both as wide players and as target forwards.

"The only position we did not need to recruit heavily was at goalkeeper, where we return an fantastic group of five returners," Krumpe added. "I am very pleased with this group and feel they will continue to help push LMU into the national spotlight."

The 2015 class features five freshmen and three transfers, among them four forwards, one midfielder and three defenders.
