Marauders Move to No. 1 in NCAA Atlantic Region
Millersville, Pa. – The No. 13 Millersville men's soccer team captured the No. 1 NCAA Atlantic Regional ranking in the poll's second release on Wednesday. The Marauders jumped two spots after beating previous No. 1 California (Pa.) and No. 2 Mercyhurst.
The national tournament is comprised of 32 teams, four teams from each region. The Marauders have wins over No. 2 California (Pa.), No. 3 Mercyhurst and No. 4 Shippensburg. Millersville played to a draw with the regional No. 5 West Virginia Wesleyan and will play No. 6 Lock Haven tomorrow on the road.
The Marauders will likely face one of the top five Atlantic Region teams, excluding W.Va. Wesleyan, in the PSAC Tournament for NCAA implications. Millersville is looking to make its third-ever appearance to the NCAA Tournament.
Millersville finishes out its regular season with two conference games against Lock Haven (0ct. 27) and West Chester (Oct. 29) on the road. With a win over Lock Haven on Thursday, the Marauders can lock up the No. 1 seed in the PSAC Tournament.
