Marion's goal lifts SCSU to 1-0 win vs. MSUM

The St. Cloud State women's soccer team (4-4-3, 4-2-2 NSIC) kicked off their weekend homestand with a thrilling 1-0 overtime win over the MSU-Moorhead Dragons (2-8-0, 2-6-0 NSIC) at Husky Stadium.
 
At the 92:48 mark of the contest, Hannah Marion scored an unassisted goal to send the Huskies home with a 1-0 victory over Moorhead. The overtime goal is Marion's fifth goal of the season, and second game winner of 2018.

The Huskies spent the majority of the afternoon on the Dragons' side of the pitch, totaling 21 shots with seven of them being on goal. SCSU's 21 shots out-matched Moorhead's eight, with only two of them being on goal.
Despite the their aggressive offensive play on Friday, the Huskies were shutout in both halves to force the overtime period. St. Cloud State had a total of four corner kicks, with each of them coming in the second half. The Dragons only had two corner kicks but did rack up 11 fouls compared to SCSU's four.
 
Hannah Marion was the Huskies' leader in shots with six, while Kaitlyn Dziubinski put up five. Freshman goalkeeper Zoe Welsh improved to 4-3-3 after tallying two saves in Friday's win.
 
The Huskies will be back in action on Sunday, October 7th at 1 PM when Northern State comes to town to finish the weekend homestand.
