Maryland remains #1 in the TopDrawerSoccer.com Men's College Soccer Tournament 48 National Ranking this week, following an exciting 1-0 overtime win over #2 North Carolina.

The ranking is an effort to project the men's college soccer postseason NCAA Tournament field of 48 each week, including the automatic qualifiers from every DI conference. The ranking update is posted after reviewing all results from the previous week.

Trailing the Terrapins in this week’s ranking are Akron, North Carolina, Marquette and Connecticut. New to the ranking this week are UIC, Drexel and UAB.

Meanwhile, Charlotte’s Giuseppe Gentile is our TopDrawerSoccer.com Men’s College Soccer Player of the Week after scoring 3 goals and adding 2 assists in a pair of Atlantic 10 conference wins for the 49ers this weekend. Recipients of the honor, along with the entire Team of the Week, are chosen after examining Division I match summaries each week.

GK: Zach Bennett, Michigan State Made 7 saves to help the Spartans to a pair of shutout wins.

D: Uchenna Uzo, Coastal CarolinaWent 180 minutes as the Chanticleers recorded a pair of 1-0 wins.

D: Jhamie Hyde, Coastal Carolina - Went 180 minutes as the Chanticleers recorded a pair of 1-0 wins.

D: Henrik Robstad, Coastal CarolinaWent 180 minutes as the Chanticleers recorded a pair of 1-0 wins.

D:  Shawn McLaws, Coastal Carolina - Went 180 minutes as the Chanticleers recorded a pair of 1-0 wins.

M: Andrew Farrell, Louisville – Scored in both of the Cardinals’ one-goal wins.

M: Marcus Salandy-Defour, VirginiaScored twice and added an assist as the Cavaliers picked up two crucial wins for their campaign.  

F:  Giuseppe Gentile, Charlotte – Scored 3 goals and added 2 assists as the 49ers won twice.

F: Devon Sandoval, New Mexico – Scored 3 goals and added 2 assists in the Lobos’ 11-0 win over UNLV.

F: Andy Huftalin, MarquetteScored 2 goals and added 2 assists in the team’s win over Pittsburgh.

F: Patrick Mullins, MarylandRecorded a goal and added 2 assists as the #1 Terrapins won a pair of matches.
