Massey Scores Twice To Lead CSUB Past Southern Utah 3-0
BAKERSFIELD, Calif.--Kassi Massey (Sr., Bakersfield, Calif., Stockdale HS) scored a pair of goals to lead CSU Bakersfield past Southern Utah 3-0 in women’s soccer action Friday night.
Massey got the Roadrunners on the board in the 34th minute when she converted a crossing pass from Daisy Vasquez (R-Jr., Redwood City, Calif., Woodside HS). Her second goal was a blast from 25 yards in the 55th minute that went into the top right of the goal. Jessica Fogeltanz (Sr., Camarillo, Calif., Ventura College) scored off a direct kick with 12 seconds to go in the match for the final tally of the night.
“Its biggest part of the game today was having Kassi Massey our senior captain who puts in an undying effort every single day, (score) two goals,” said CSUB Head Coach Melissa Phillips. “That’s what she needed to give our team a boost. Very pleased on how we played tonight. Little scrappy here and there, it was a great result for us tonight.”
The Roadrunners head to Loyola Marymount for a 1 p.m. match Sunday afternoon.
