Men's Soccer Beats Roberts Wesleyan, 3-1
Rochester, N.Y. - The Queens College men’s soccer team won its fourth straight game on Sunday, with a 3-1 victory over Roberts Wesleyan in Rochester, New York. With the win, the Knights are now 2-0 in the East Coast Conference.
The Knights came out strong on Sunday and we rewarded with a goal on the very first shot on target on Sunday. Glen Reid lifted a ball into the box and Pol Narbona blasted it inside the left post from twenty yards out. The goal put Queens ahead, 1-0.
Early in the second half, QC doubled their advantage when Paul Sandoval connected with Tyler Iocco in the left side of the box. Iocco rolled the ball across the box and into the right side of the net to put the Knights up, 2-0.
In the 80th minute, QC put the game out of reach when Peter Touros connected on a one touch from 15 yards inside of the box. The marker put Queens up 3-0. Roberts Wesleyan scored in the 87th minute, but the game ended 3-1 for the Knights.
With the win, Queens is now 4-1-1 on the season. They dropped their opening game, but have earned a result in every game since then.
The team returns to action on Wednesday, September 25, when they host Bloomsburg. The kickoff is scheduled for 4:00 PM.
