Bronx, N.Y. – Earlier this afternoon, the men's soccer team took on the Rams of Fordham University in their first road game of the season. The Panthers played their counterparts even in the first 45 minutes, but it was the Rams who broke the silence early on in the second in the 49th minute to take a 1-0 lead which would last through regulation. With the loss, Adelphi drops to 0-2 while the Rams move to 1-1.

The Rams came out firing right off the bat, testing keeper Ahmad Salamah early on as proven by a shot off the foot of For Bitterman that was saved in the opening 2:15. At the 15:44 mark, Adelphi's Steve Rivera managed to get a shot off that sailed just wide right of the net. It would be the sole attempt on goal in the first half for the Brown and Gold. Meanwhile, the Rams would go on to take another four but were kept at bay.

Less than five minutes into the second, the Rams capitalized on a free kick taken by Nathaniel Bekoe who sent in a pass that was headed in to find the back of the net by Ryan Walsh to give the hosts a 1-0 lead.

Adelphi's offense was kept in check as they only registered two shots in the half. In the 85th minute, Domenico Parrelli took a corner and connected with Adrian Sundquist, but the header attempt went wide. Salamah continued to be challenged and made six saves during the game.

The Panthers return to action on Friday, August 31 when they travel down to High Point, North Carolina for the first of a two game road trip beginning with High Point University at 7pm.
