Midseason Top 100 rankings revealed
With a number of players building a case for honors in the women's college game, sophomore forward Catarina Macario stands out in a talented field.
The Stanford(w) attacker scored a game-winning goal last Thursday, helping the Cardinal to yet another conference win against Oregon. An injury may have slowed her at the start of the year, but she is coming into form as the stretch run nears.
Macario takes over at the No. 1 spot in the midseason Upperclassman Top 100, with Tierna Davidson's injury putting the rest of her season in jeopardy. Defender Grace Fisk is now at No. 2, the English youth international now up to speed after missing the start of the season at the Under-20 World Cup.
Jessie Fleming is at No. 3, despite injuries and full national team duty limiting her production, but it does not diminish her quality. Stanford(w)'s Alana Cook and Tennessee midfielder Katie Cousins round out the new top 5.
