Graduates of MLS Academies are everywhere in the college ranks nowadays, as many are aiming to continue developing in hopes of one day landing a homegrown contract.

For now, of course, the focus is on their college teams, as the season continues to move along and the chase for the College Cup inches along.

Here’s a look at how a selection of MLS Academy alumni fared in Division I action over the last week: 

Chicago Fire 

Junior GK Charlie Lyon played 180 minutes in Marquette’s wins over Bowling Green (3-0) and Drake (4-1).

Senior F Harrison Shipp played 110 minutes and had an assist in Notre Dame’s 1-1 draw against North Carolina on Sep. 8.

Junior F Tyler Engel played 85 minutes and scored a goal in North Carolina’s 1-1 draw against Notre Dame on Sep. 8. 

Sophomore F Joey Calistri played 60 minutes and scored two goals in Northwestern’s 2-0 win over Xavier on Sep. 7. 

Senior MF Chris Ritter played 90 minutes in Northwestern’s 2-0 win over Xavier on Sep. 7.

Chivas USA

Sophomore D Brendan Hines-Ike played 90 minutes in Creighton’s 3-1 defeat of Columbia on Sep. 6.

Freshman MF Romario Lomeli came off the bench and played 48 minutes in UC Riverside's 2-0 win over Georgia State on Sep. 6. He also played 39 minutes and scored a goal in a 3-2 win against Bradley on Sep. 8.

Sophomore MF Eric Gonzalez started and played 77 minutes in UC Riverside's 2-0 win over Georgia State on Sep. 6. He also played 68 minutes in a 3-2 win against Bradley on Sep. 8.

Colorado Rapids 

Freshman MF Ricardo Perez played 66 minutes and scored a goal in Creighton’s 3-1 defeat of Columbia on Sep. 6. 

Senior D Patrick Slogic played 106 minutes and scored a goal in Cornell’s 2-1 overtime win over Hartwick on Sep. 8. He also played 90 minutes in a 1-1 draw against Detroit(m) on Sep. 6.

Junior F James Rogers scored a goal in New Mexico’s 1-1 draw against VCU on Sep. 6, and also assisted in a 1-0 win over Georgetown on Sep. 8. 

Columbus Crew

Freshman D Alex Crognale played 90 minutes in Maryland’s 3-1 win over Duke on Sep. 6, and 90 minutes in a 3-2 loss against VCU on Sep. 8.

Senior D Sage Gardner played 61 minutes in Ohio State’s 4-1 loss against Tulsa on Sep. 6, and 90 minutes in a 1-0 win over SMU on Sep. 8.

Sophomore D Andrew Souders played 105 minutes in Akron’s 2-1 loss against St. John's on Sep. 6, and 82 minutes in a 2-1 win over Rutgers on Sep. 8.

Junior D Nat Eggleston played 90 minutes in Duke’s 3-1 loss at Maryland on Sep. 6.

Freshman MF Jimmy Doll played 90 minutes in Duke’s 3-1 loss at Maryland on Sep. 6.

Junior D Uchenna Uzo played 90 minutes in Coastal Carolina’s 2-1 loss against Charlotte on Sep. 6.

Freshman D Alex Ochoa played 90 minutes in West Virginia’s 3-0 loss against Georgetown on Sep. 6. He also played 104 minutes, notching an assist in a 5-4 overtime win against Indiana on Sep. 8.
