MLS Academy alumni weekly roundup: Nov. 6

Graduates of MLS Academies are everywhere in the college ranks nowadays, as many are aiming to continue developing with one day landing a homegrown contract.

For now, of course, the focus is on their college teams, as the season continues to move along and the chase for the College Cup inches along. 

Here’s a look at how a selection of MLS Academy alumni fared in Division I action over the past week: 

Chicago Fire

Junior GK Charlie Lyon started, played 90 minutes and made two saves in Marquette’s 2-1 win over Seton Hall on Nov. 2. 

Freshman MF Louis Bennett II started and played 90 minutes in Marquette’s 2-1 win over Seton Hall on Nov. 2.

Junior MF Brady Wahl started and played 90 minutes in Marquette’s 2-1 win over Seton Hall on Nov. 2. 

Senior F Harrison Shipp started, played 90 minutes and had an assist in Notre Dame’s 3-1 win over Wake Forest on Nov. 2. He also started, played 90 minutes and score a goal in a 2-0 win over Michigan State on Nov. 2.

Junior F Tyler Engel started, played 66 minutes and score a goal in North Carolina’s 1-0 win over Virginia on Nov. 1. He also started, played 76 minutes and scored a goal in a 1-0 win over Georgia State on Nov. 5.

Senior MF Bryan Ciesiulka started and played 90 minutes in Marquette’s 2-1 win over Seton Hall on Nov. 2. 

Sophomore F Joey Calistri started, played 77 minutes and had a goal and an assist in Northwestern’s 4-1 win over Loyola-Chicago on Oct. 30. He also started and played 86 minutes in a 1-0 loss against Wisconsin on Nov. 3. 

Sophomore MF Drew Conner started and played 90 minutes in Wisconsin’s 1-0 win over Northwestern on Nov. 3.

Senior MF Chris Ritter started, played 18 minutes and had a goal and an assist in Northwestern’s 4-1 win over Loyola-Chicago on Oct. 30.

Senior D Scott Lakin started and played 90 minutes in Northwestern’s 4-1 win over Loyola-Chicago on Oct. 30. He also started and played 90 minutes in a 1-0 loss against Wisconsin on Nov. 3.

Chivas USA 

Sophomore D Brendan Hines-Ike started and played 90 minutes in Creighton’s 2-0 win over Drake on Oct. 30. He also started and played 90 minutes in a 5-1 win over DePaul on Nov. 2.

Freshman F Romario Lomeli came off the bench and played 49 minutes in UC Riverside’s 1-0 win over Cal State Northridge on Nov. 2.

Colorado Rapids

Freshman MF Ricardo Perez came off the bench and played 57 minutes in Creighton’s 2-0 win over Drake on Oct. 30. He also came off the bench and played 51 minutes in a 5-1 win over DePaul on Nov. 2.

Senior D Patrick Slogic started, played 90 minutes and scored a goal in Cornell’s 2-1 loss against Princeton on Nov. 2.

Junior F James Rogers started and played 50 minutes in New Mexico’s 4-3 win over UAB on Oct. 30. He also started, played 62 minutes and scored a goal in a 3-0 win over Old Dominion on Nov. 2.

Sophomore GK Joe Kuzminsky started, played 90 minutes and made seven saves in UAB’s 4-3 loss against South Carolina on Nov. 3.

Columbus Crew 

Senior D Ross Friedman started, played 90 minutes and had an assist in Harvard’s 2-1 win over Dartmouth on Nov. 2.

Freshman D Rylee Woods started and played 90 minutes in Michigan’s 2-1 loss against Akron on Oct. 30. He also started and played 66 minutes in a 1-0 win over Valparaiso on Nov. 4.

Sophomore D Andrew Souders started and played 90 minutes in Akron’s 2-1 win over Michigan on Oct. 30.

Senior MF Eric Stevenson started and played 78 minutes in Akron’s 2-1 win over Michigan on Oct. 30. 

Senior D Sage Gardner started and played 108 minutes in Ohio State’s 1-0 win over Penn State on Nov. 2.

Senior MF Matt Walker started, played 90 minutes and scored a goal in Xavier’s 1-0 win over Villanova on Nov. 2.

Junior D Nat Eggleston started and played 90 minutes in Duke’s 3-0 win over Pittsburgh on Nov. 2. 

Freshman MF Michael Sauers started and played 57 minutes in Maryland’s 2-1 win over NC State on Nov. 1. 

Freshman D Patrick Foss started and played 72 minutes in Virginia’s 1-0 loss against North Carolina on Nov. 1. 

Sophomore MF Cody Albrecht started and played 75 minutes in St. John's 1-0 win over Georgetown on Nov. 2. 

Freshman D Suliaman Dainkeh started and played 90 minutes in Maryland’s 2-1 win over NC State on Nov. 1. 

Junior MF Tyler Rudy started and played 77 minutes in Georgetown’s 1-0 loss against St. John's on Nov. 2.

Freshman MF Ian Harkes started and played 90 minutes in Wake Forest’s 3-1 loss against Notre Dame on Nov. 2.

Sophomore D Jalen Robinson started and played 90 minutes in Wake Forest’s 3-1 loss against Notre Dame on Nov. 2. 

Freshman D Lars Eckenrode started and played 78 minutes in Michigan’s 2-1 loss against Akron on Oct. 30. He also started and played 45 minutes in a 1-0 win over Valparaiso on Nov. 4. 

Freshman D Rafael Fagundo started and played 80 minutes in Wake Forest’s 3-1 loss against Notre Dame on Nov. 2. 

Sophomore MF Marcus Salandy-Defour started and played 64 minutes in Virginia’s 1-0 loss against North Carolina on Nov. 1. 

Junior MF Mikias Eticha started and played 82 minutes in Maryland’s 2-1 win over NC State on Nov. 1.

FC Dallas

Freshman D Nicholas Rochowski started and played 43 minutes in New Mexico’s 4-3 win over UAB on Oct. 30. He also started and played 39 minutes in a 3-0 win over Old Dominion on Nov. 2.

Junior D Boyd Okwuonu started and played 90 minutes in North Carolina’s 1-0 win over Virginia on Nov. 1. 

Senior GK Jaime Ibarra started, played 90 minutes and made two saves in SMU’s 1-0 loss against Connecticut on Nov. 2.

Sophomore D Mikey Ambrose started and played 90 minutes in Maryland’s 2-1 win over NC State on Nov. 1.

Junior D Jack Coleman came off the bench and played 41 minutes in Duke’s 3-0 win over Pittsburgh on Nov. 2. 

Sophomore D Mark Ashby started and played 86 minutes in Harvard’s 2-1 win over Dartmouth on Nov. 2.

Sophomore D Bradley Bourgeois started and played 90 minutes in Tulsa’s 2-0 win over Florida International on Nov. 2.

Senior GK Patrick Wall started, played 90 minutes and made seven saves in Notre Dame’s 3-1 win over Wake Forest on Nov. 2. He also started, played 90 minutes and made five saves in a 2-0 win over Michigan State on Nov. 5.

Sophomore D Grady Howe started and played 90 minutes in UCLA’s 2-1 win over Stanford on Nov. 1. He also started and played 90 minutes in a 2-1 win over California on Nov. 3.

Freshman D Nathan Smith started, played 90 minutes and scored a goal in UCLA’s 2-1 win over Stanford on Nov. 1. He also started and played 90 minutes in a 2-1 win over California on Nov. 3. 

Freshman GK Josh McNeely started, played 110 minutes and made four saves in UC Santa Barbara’s 1-1 draw against UC Davis on Nov 2.

Senior F Ruben Valencia started and played 49 minutes in UC Riverside’s 1-0 win over Cal State Northridge on Nov. 2.

Sophomore MF Juan Mendoza started, played 74 minutes and scored a goal in UC Riverside’s 1-0 win over Cal State Northridge on Nov. 2.

Freshman MF Justin Dhillon came off the bench and played 26 minutes in Cal Poly’s 4-2 win over Sacramento State on Nov. 2. 

Montreal Impact

Freshman D Kai Morton started and played 85 minutes in Coastal Carolina’s 1-0 loss against UNC Asheville on Nov. 2. 

New England Revolution 

Junior F Cole DeNormandie came off the bench and played 62 minutes in Boston College’s 3-1 win over Virginia Tech on Nov. 3. 

Freshman MF Dominik Machado started and played 81 minutes in Providence’s 3-2 win over Butler on Nov. 2.

Junior F Fabio Machado started, played 52 minutes and scored a goal in Providence’s 3-2 win over Butler on Nov. 2.

Sophomore GK Kendall McIntosh started, played 98 minutes and made seven saves in Santa Clara’s 1-0 win over Portland on Nov. 1. He also started, played 90 minutes and made five saves in a 2-1 win over Gonzaga on Nov. 3.

Junior F Nick Palodichuk started, played 52 minutes scored a goal and had an assist in Duke’s 3-0 win over Pittsburgh on Nov. 2.

Junior MF Troy Peterson started, played 90 minutes and had an assist in College of Charleston’s 2-1 win against James Madison on Oct. 30. He also started and played 90 minutes in a 1-0 win against Northeastern on Nov. 2.
