Major League Soccer today announced the 2016 Generation adidas class that will enter the professional ranks through the 2016 MLS SuperDraft presented by adidas on Jan. 14 in Baltimore, Md. MLS has also signed Stanford defender and 2015 NCAA Men’s College Cup winner Brandon Vincent ahead of the SuperDraft.

The five Generation adidas signings are 2015 All-American honorees, in addition to a host of their All-Conference honors. Leading the crop of promising young talent is Georgetown University defender Joshua Yaro, who was named BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Year and earned 2015 NSCAA All-America Second Team accolades. Clemson University’s Andrew Tarbell stood out in 2015, taking home a NSCAA All-America Second Team nod, as the goalkeeper guided the Tigers to the 2015 NCAA Men’s College Cup final and led the ACC with 84 saves. Syracuse University midfielder Julian Buescher notched eight goals and 11 assists, earning NSCAA All-American Second Team and 2015 College Cup All-Tournament Team honors. The only freshman to be named a NSCAA First Team All-American, English midfielder Jack Harrison was vital for Wake Forest, while Toronto, Ontario, native Richie Laryea led Akron University in scoring with 11 goals on the season, resulting in a NSCAA Third Team All-America nod.

Players who join MLS as part of the Generation adidas program receive the opportunity to develop their game and hone their skills at the professional level by training and playing with one of Major League Soccer’s 20 professional clubs. Generation adidas players do not count against an MLS team’s salary budget.

In addition, MLS has also signed 2015 MAC Hermann Trophy semifinalist and 2015 First Team All-American, Brandon Vincent. The Stanford defender co-captained the Cardinal to the 2015 NCAA Men’s College Cup final where they went on to defeat Clemson 4-0.
