Emmitsburg, Md. (September 22, 2013) – After yielding a goal in the third minute of play, the Mount women's soccer team responded with three unanswered goals to take down Delaware State, 3-1, in the nonconference finale on Sunday afternoon at Waldron Family Stadium. Three different players scored for the Mount, which experienced its highest offensive output of the season.

Mount St. Mary's found itself playing catchup after Addison Taylor's cross found Kelly Pelz-Butler, who settled then shot to the lower left-hand corner to give the visiting Hornets a 1-0 lead just 2:17 into the match.

Later in the first half, the Mount bounced back to level the score at 1-1 on Corley's strike to the bottom left side off a through ball slotted by Jackie Glanfield in the 38th minute. Corley has now scored a team-best three goals this season.

Senior Kate Murphy struck a beautiful cross that McGettigan headed past Delaware State goalkeeper, Katelyn Koslosky, and into the net for a 2-1 advantage in the 76th minute.

Less than three minutes later, Mirando provided an insurance goal to put the game out of reach. Glanfield fired a shot from eight yards out that was batted down by Koslosky, right to Mirando, who finished her opportunity from 12 yards out.

As a team, the Mount took 19 shots on the afternoon, the most since taking 26 against VMI last September. Holding a 19-6 advantage on shots, the Mount put eight on target, led by Mirando with four of five shots on frame.
