MT Soccer completes successful spring
Murfreesboro, Tenn. - Middle Tennessee Soccer wrapped up its spring season with a 4-1-1 record as the Blue Raiders prepare for their first season in Conference USA.
The Raiders opened the season with a 2-1 victory over Kennesaw State and followed that victory with a critical 3-2 win over in-state foe Vanderbilt. On April 13, MT defeated Western Kentucky 2-1 before having the only loss of the season with a 2-1 decision to Austin Peay. Middle Tennessee closed out Division I competition with a 6-3 victory over Belmont.
On April 23, the Raiders closed out the spring season with a 2-2 tie with MT alumni. Following the contest, the 2012 team received their regular season Sun Belt Conference Championship rings.
“The spring was a good time for us to develop us a team,” said Rhoden. “We finished the spring with a 4-1-1 record whilst ensure everyone had an opportunity to show what they learned during actual games. We still have a lot of work ahead of us but overall everyone made some strides during the spring.”
The Blue Raiders open the 2013 season with exhibition matches in early August. A full schedule of MT’s first season in Conference USA will be released later this spring.
