BUFFALO, NY—Senior forward C.J. Scirto (Lockport/St. Joe's) tallied two goals and an assist in his final game at Coyer Field today to lead Buffalo State (9-8-1) to a lopsided 5-0 non-conference victory over visiting Nazareth (5-10).

Freshman Joe Vucic (East Aurora/East Aurora) also scored twice and Francesco Cardillo (Tonawanda/St. Thomas Aquinas (ON)) added a single marker for the Bengals in the blowout.

Scirto opened the scoring in the 15th minute, taking a long pass from Erik Tellgren (Springville/Springville GI) and making a nifty play to beat the keeper. Before the intermission, Scirto extended the lead to 2-0, creating spacing and ripping a shot from 30 yards inside the left post for his seventh goal of the season.

Cardillo opened the second-half scoring when he took a pass from Scirto in traffic and chipped it over the challenging keeper. Vucic tallied his first collegiate goal with a 15-yard strike inside the left post in the 77th minute, and then scored again off a long feed from Brett Lanham (Newstead/Williamsville North) just over five minutes later.

Freshman Michael Moraitis (Plainview/Schreiber) needed to make five saves to preserve his third shutout of the season.

The Bengals will be the No. 5 seed in the SUNYAC playoffs and will travel to No. 4 Plattsburgh for a quarterfinal match on Saturday
