NCAA champ Skyhawks to hold victory parade

DURANGO, Colo. — A victory parade for the NCAA Division II national champion Fort Lewis College men’s soccer team is scheduled for 4 p.m. tomorrow (Friday, Dec. 9) on Main Ave. in downtown Durango from College Dr. to 9th St.
Following the short parade, the Skyhawk players and coaches will hold an autograph party upstairs in the Irish Embassy Pub, located on the northeast corner of Main and 9th. Free, national championship posters will be available. The autograph party is open to fans of all ages.
Fort Lewis (24-1-0 overall) won its third NCAA-II championship in men’s soccer last Saturday, defeating Lynn (Fla.) 3-2 in overtime.
The Skyhawks previously won NCAA-II national titles in 2005 and 2009 and were national runners-up in 1999 and 2006.
