PORTLAND, Ore. — Newberg High School forward Megan Myers will join the Portland State women's soccer team for the 2015 fall season, head coach Laura Schott announced Friday, making her the second Newberg High School product to sign for the Vikings in 2015, joining defender Dallin Esmond.
 
Myers also becomes 10th member of the Vikings' 2015 signing class, which will have to produce for the Vikings quickly as the team looks to rebuild with 18 underclassmen on its 26-player roster.
 
"Megan is a dynamic attacker who will contribute to our team immediately," Schott said of her new signing. "Megan is a local player we have had our eye on for some time. We are thrilled she is joining our incoming group of talented young players."
 
Myers was a four-year letterwinner at Newberg High School, and captained her team as a senior in 2014. She was a first-team all-league selection as a junior in 2013 as well, when she was also named her team's MVP.
 
Myers and the rest of the Portland State women's soccer team report for fall camp next week on Aug. 4, with practices starting the following day. The Vikings will play an exhibition match against Fraser Valley on Aug. 18 at Hillsboro Stadium, before they open their counting season on the road at Arizona State on Aug. 21.
