Freshman Nicolosi Garners RMAC Defensive Player of the Week Accolades
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.: Freshman goalkeeper Christian Nicolosi earned RMAC defensive player of the week accolades today after commanding the Ranger goal throughout the last three matches of regular season play.
In 270 minutes, the Highlands Ranch native put up 10 saves, while allowing only one goal to defending national champions Fort Lewis College for a 0.33 goals against average. Two of the wins were shutouts, 1-0 over Mines and 3-0 over Adams State, which makes eight shutouts for Nicolosi on the season.
He ranks 19th in the nation with a .751 goals against average. He is first in the RMAC in both goals against average and goals against with 11 scored on him all season. He also ranks second in the RMAC with a .761 save percentage.
On Friday, Nov. 2, top seed Regis will host the winner between UC-Colorado Springs and Colorado Mesa at 2:30 p.m. Second seed Colorado Mines will host the winner between Fort Lewis and Metro State at 2:30 p.m.
The RMAC men's soccer championship game will be held Sunday, Nov. 4 at the highest remaining seed following Friday's games.
