NJIT MSOC Ranked No. 10 in Southeast Region
KANSAS CITY, MO—The first United Soccer Coaches region polls were unveiled on Monday, and the NJIT men's soccer team debuted in at No. 10 in the Southeast Region poll after a 1-0 shutout at Sacred Heart in the season opener.
Other teams represented in the Southeast Region Poll include: Old Dominion, Georgia St., Florida International, Kentucky, Charlotte, University of Alabama-Birmingham, South Carolina, Appalachian St. and Lipscomb, from the ASUN Conference.
Lipscomb ranked No. 8 in the Southeast Region poll after a 3-2 win in their opening game against Niagara 3-2.
NJIT will head south for Labor Day weekend and visit Florida International (ranked No. 3 in the poll). FIU, who notched 10 wins in 2016, will host the Highlanders on September 1 at FIU Soccer Stadium under the lights at 7pm. This will mark the second all-time meeting between the two teams; with the first meeting in 2004.
United Soccer Coaches, formerly known as the National Soccer Coaches Association of American, consists of college soccer coaches from around the country at every level to help recognize players and coaches on and off the pitch.
